Client Testimonials "I think that you have to love your home. You need to want to come back to it, let it envelope you in memories and warmth. Steve had that feeling, but I wanted to create a space that reflected a bit of me as well. "I began to look for a new designer. The day I interviewed Diane Quintin, I knew she was right for the job. Her new task had some unique challenges. My appliances were still sitting in the garage. We needed to work within the restraints they imposed. She knew I was picky. Diane's upbeat attitude, fresh ideas, and gorgeous and readable plans all convinced me that this dream would finally become a kitchen! "Diane really listened to the thoughts that Steve and I had regarding our dream kitchen. She understood the natural lighting, and walked the physical space. She met our kids, and discussed our safety concerns both regarding the remodel process and kitchen itself. She encouraged us to be part of the ongoing design process, and readily adjusted plans according to our input. "Diane's own sensibilities probably lie elsewhere. But she didn't design this kitchen for just anyone. This kitchen was designed just for us. Diane thought about our 2 young boys, creating spaces for them to put their dishes away themselves. She raised the microwave, to "keep them from blowing things up." She had discussed our lifestyle with us at length, and made changes in the area to reflect our priorities. She annexed our wet bar area to create an amazing hidden walk-in pantry. She gave Steve the big desk he wanted, so that he can work in the evening while staying close to the family activities. She ordered bead board along the back of the island even though she told me I couldn't afford it and didn't need it, just because I wanted it. And she did it with a smile. "What I love most about the kitchen is that it feels like it is mine. I come home to exactly the warmth, comfort, and memories that I had hoped to feel. I love the fun and whimsical touches. Incorporated into my backsplash are flower mosaics which were created by artist Irina Charney to include my wedding flowers. Hanging above the island are Murano glass pendants which hold special memories of my childhood. My kitchen feels so much lighter with painted white cabinets on the walls, but Steve was able to get his wish of dark cherry cabinets on the island. "The kitchen has the mix of light, warmth, and vibrant color that I had hoped for, with far more functionality built in than I could have dreamed up.
